A Brief History of FACS

FACS was officially founded on February 4, 1972, when the First Assembly of God Church Board of Directors authorized the formation of a non-denominational Christian school to be housed in the FAOG church building.
Since 1977, FACS has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Superintendent Wendell Meadows and Elementary Principal Ernie White became our administrative leaders in 1996. Joe Newman, Ph.D., assumed a new position as secondary principal in 2006.
In November of 1999, the school’s 402 students moved from a 6.75-acre campus on Highland Street to the 42-acre site we currently occupy on Walnut Grove Road in Cordova. We’ve added nearly 300 students to our body since that time.
