Biblical instruction at FACS is non-denominational, focusing on essential Christian doctrine with practical application.
In junior high, our seventh grade students complete a year-long examination of the wisdom in the book of proverbs and participate in a once-a-week study that encourages, equips and empowers teens to develop the character trait of purity. Eighth graders utilize the Gospel of John and spend the year analyzing the life and ministry of Christ.
High school students are required to complete Bible I and Bible II. The first course includes a fall semester survey of the Old Testament, followed by a systematic walk through each book of the New Testament during the spring semester.
Bible II is also divided into two parts. The fall study, "A Christian Perspective on Marriage & the Family," presents Christian principles involved in dating and marriage, and offers practical guidelines for establishing and maintaining a Christian home. Second semester is devoted to a study called "Understanding the Times, which contrasts the Christian worldview with other prominent worldviews such as secular humanism and Marxism-leninism. Students discover how a person's worldview colors his understanding of theology, philosophy, ethics, biology, psychology, law, politics, economics and history.
