Mastering a world language is important not only for college entrance and study, but also for ministry and business application in an increasingly multi-lingual society.
Students who completed elementary studies at FACS already have a basic foundation in conversational Spanish.
Beginning in the freshman year, FACS students working toward an arts & sciences diploma commit to at least two years of language study. Some complete three years. Courses are offered in Spanish, French and Latin.
In addition to formal language study, many FACS students utilize language skills on short-term mission trips. For instance, the student above used her Spanish language knowledge on mission in El Salvador. She said she hopes to become fluent in the language and continue using Spanish in ministry. Some FACS French students also immerse themselves more deeply in the language during summer trips to Paris.
