Sixth through eighth grade students may try out for competitive school sports teams. Currently FACS offers football, volleyball, girls' soccer, cross country and golf in the fall, basketball during the winter, and softball, baseball, and boys' soccer during the spring. Some eighth graders participate on high school teams.
Junior high girls may try out for the cheerleading squad, which is active throughout the football and basketball seasons.
Junior high teams participate in an independent league. Football, volleyball, basketball and softball games are played at independent schools throughout the area, with some competitions held at area public schools. Junior high baseball teams practice at Hope Fields and play at the First Tennessee Fields in Cordova.

FACS stresses rigorous development during practices, which take place on the FACS campus and at nearby gyms or fields. Coaches play to win, but also hold to the philosophy that all students who qualify for inclusion on a sports team should gain some playing experience during game situations.
Junior high head coaches are: Robert Downing, football and baseball; Kendall Boyd, volleyball; Eddie Walker, girls' basketball; John Grant, boys' basketball and golf; Amy Dunbar, cross country; and Julie Reed and Dana DeLisle, cheerleading.
Our secondary coaches offer camps and clinics for students through eighth grade. Learn about upcoming camps.»
