While educational costs at FACS are low compared with other Christian schools in Shelby County (and compared with state expenditures per-child for public schools), some families, even after significant personal sacrifice, are unable to afford tuition.
The FACS Board of Directors sets aside a portion of the school’s budget each year to provide financial assistance and open the doors to Christian education for qualified students.
Parents and guardians apply for assistance during the spring semester by completing a financial statement from the School and Student Service office (SSS) of the National Association of Independent Schools. The form is completed by the parent or guardian and given directly to the SSS, which independently reviews the form, and notifies FACS of the student’s qualification for financial aid. The FACS Board of Directors then allocates funds, as available, from the financial aid budget (usually prior to the fall semester) to assist needy students. Please contact Barbara White in the school office at 458-5543 or bwhite@facsmemphis.org to obtain our school code for SSS application.
