Vocal Music

“David also commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brothers as the singers who should play loudly on musical instruments, on harps and lyres and cymbals, to raise sounds of joy." - 1 Chronicles 15:16 (ESV)

ELEMENTARY (PreK-5)

Music is a fun, educational tool for learning. Students from the earliest age use language curricula that involve singing. They also work with a dedicated elementary music teacher twice a week, who introduces music theory concepts like rhythm paired with movement and explores various vocal styles. Students perform programs for grandparents and parents throughout the school year.

SECONDARY (Grades 6-12)

Middle and high school students have Choral music as a fine arts elective where they study music theory and its history, which has historical roots in the church as a form of worship. Students can also participate in extracurricular involvement such as:

  • Concerts

  • Musical productions, in partnership with Theatre

  • Chapel worship services

  • All West and All State Honor Choirs
