2022 Academic Honors Night Recognizes Student Achievements

First Assembly Christian School Secondary Faculty and Staff, along with family and friends, honored students in seventh through twelfth grades during the annual Academic Honors Awards Night on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 7 p.m. The evening is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating academic achievements of students in every area of study offered at FACS including: English, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Science and Journalism/Communications.

“We gather together both thankful and blessed for the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the academic achievements of these young men and women,” Dr. Bryan Sanders, Head of School, FACS, stated. “There is no doubt that their future is bright, and it thrills me to see the number of students at FACS who have achieved this level of academic excellence. Truly, this is one of the aspects we strive for as a school. Seeing students and faculty who strive for excellence gives me an immense amount of hope for our future.” Students crossed the stage, posed for a photo and accepted certificates of recognition. Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2022 were also announced during the ceremony.

Leslie Shea Frans was presented the Four-Year Award for the highest academic honors in the areas of Mathematics, Science and Social Studies at FACS. With the highest cumulative grade point average, Shea was also announced as the Valedictorian for the Class of 2022, the most prestigious award.

Allison Rose Wong was announced as Salutatorian, achieving the second highest cumulative grade point average. Allison was also presented with the Four-Year Award for highest academic honors in English as well as multiple other awards. The Dean of Men, Pastor Jason Hall, and Dean of Women, Mrs. April Spain, announced all recognition and honors.

“It has been an honor to recognize and reward each of these students for their academic success this evening, Pastor Jason Hall, Dean of Men, FACS, stated at the conclusion of the ceremony. “It gives me great hope to know that students of this caliber are also storing the word of God into their hearts. My prayer is that they will go change their communities and this city for the better, for the glory of God.”

Seniors will be honored again during upcoming commencement ceremonies, scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the main sanctuary at First Assembly Memphis.
