Thursday, September 4
Elementary and junior high football is at home against Woodland with the 5th/6th grade team kicking off at 5:30 p.m. and the 7th/8th grade team playing at 7 p.m. Junior varsity and varsity volleyball is also at home against Central Baptist beginning at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. Junior high girls' soccer begins at 4:30 p.m. at Hutchison. Junior high volleyball begins at 4:30 p.m. at St. Mary's. Varsity girls' golf is at Wyndyke today against SBA and Briarcrest.
Friday, September 5
Varsity football kicks off at home at 7 p.m. against Bishop Byrne. Junior high volleyball is at home at 4:30 p.m. vs. SBEC.
Saturday, September 6
The West Tennessee Cross Country Invitational takes place this weekend, as does a varsity boys' golf tournament at Kingsport.

Here's how to purchase:
1) Purchase a book in the cafeteria from 7:45 - 9:30 am.
2) Go to www.bestbfundraisers.biz. Click link to purchase on-line. Please include FACS on the "company" line so that the school will receive credit. You can also view a complete list of advertisers on the website.
3) Purchase a book in the school office.
Secondary Literature Books
Secondary students may purchase required literature books for the school year through the FACS library. Orders are due this Friday, September 5.
Join the Birthday Book Club
Parents, grandparents and friends may honor FACS students by donating a book to the FACS library in recognition of the student's birthday. Fill out a form in the school library, select a book, and for your donation of $10, the student will be honored with a bookplate on the book's inside front cover, a bookmark, and a free ice cream cone. The student will also be the first to borrow the book from the library.
Athletic Passes Now on Sale
FACS families can purchase athletic passes in the school office or through the mail.

Chelsea Bramlett, a 2006 graduate of
First Assembly Christian School and
rising junior at Mississippi State
University, was recently named to
ESPN's Academic All-American Team
and as a 2008 Louisville Slugger
National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First Team All-American. Congratulations Chelsea!
S. Wanish t o Play Basketball at Lambuth
Sean Wanish, class of 2008, has won a
partial scholarship to play basketball at
Lambuth University in Jackson,
TN. Sean is the son of Daniel and
Suzanne Wanish of Cordova. “We love
FACS,” Mr. Wanish commented. “It’s
definitely shaped our son.” Sean’s
selection of Lambuth brought particular
pleasure to FACS Varsity Basketball Coach Harold Cagle, who is a graduate of the university.
J. Cook Named Scholar Athlete
Joe Cook, class of 2008, has been named
a Scholar Athlete by The National
Football Foundation and College Hall of
Fame, Inc. He was honored May 12 at
the University of Memphis. Joe Cook
also was was recently named Mr. FACS
for 2008, a designation representing
the FACS ideals of character, scholar-
ship and service.
